About Danielle:
From a young age, I developed a deep passion for makeup. As a toddler, I would spend hours with my grandmother at her Merle Norman cosmetics store, mesmerized by the array of beauty products. I vividly remember the thrill of applying the brightest red lipstick, using a lip brush and liner with precision even at the tender age of 4. This early fascination blossomed into a lifelong love affair with all things makeup. Makeup initially began for me as a passion and a hobby, something I cherished without any expectation of evolving into a career. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have found this path. After completing my studies at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. My love of cosmetics only grew stronger with each passing year, as I honed my skills and cultivated an exciting professional career in the beauty industry. I developed a strong desire to learn more about the world of beauty and cosmetics. As a result, I took the initiative to learn the art of hairstyling on my own. The experience of working in the beauty industry has left a profound and enduring impact on me for the past two decades. When I'm not busy with my work, I love spending quality time with my amazing husband and our two lovely children.
Danielle’s Experience:
I have a profound appreciation for all makeup styles. From my 10 years at MAC, which marked my initial foray into the industry to becoming a Brand Ambassador and trainer for Anastasia and Laura Mercier. My experience spans the full spectrum of the industry, from film and commercials to ad campaigns, runways, shows, celebrity clientele, bridal, and editorial work, in addition to providing makeup lessons. I am proud to say I have been a freelance makeup artist, running my own business for over 20 years!
Danielle’s Makeup Philosophy:
I firmly believe that makeup should transform one’s appearance while still maintaining a sense of familiarity; it is essential to recognize oneself in the mirror. The skin should retain its natural texture, merely enhanced and balanced. I favor a luminous finish, really, my style can be characterized as a natural, radiant look that highlights the eyes and skin. This is of course dependent on the type of makeup we are doing. A full glam look is equally as fun! I have mastered my signature style and really apply it to reflect my own artistic identity
Constantly Evolving:
As a makeup artist, I find it important to stay current on industry trends and new product launches. I accomplish this by regularly reading beauty and fashion magazines, as well as subscribing to mailing lists from various cosmetic brands. When a brand releases a new product, I take the time to learn about its purpose and features, so I can effectively incorporate it into my work and makeup kit should it be the right fit for my style.
Why I am different from other artists you have worked with:
Maintaining consistent communication and lasting client relationships is key. I stay involved with clients throughout the year, leaving a gentle, personal touch that conveys my thoughtfulness. This approach creates a lasting, positive impression. My punctuality, transparency, and polished appearance – both personally, and with my professional makeup kit - further demonstrate my dedication to providing exceptional client experience. When tailoring makeup styles for different clients, I first aim to understand your individual preferences and needs. I start by asking a lot of questions to get a sense of your day-to-day look, past makeup experiences, and desired outcomes. For clients who rarely wear makeup, I know to take a more subtle, natural approach rather than going for a full glam look, which you may find uncomfortable. Conversely, if you are used to a more dramatic makeup routine, I can confidently amp up the glamour. For special occasions like weddings, I may even suggest additional skin treatments like facials or dermaplaning to ensure the best possible canvas. Ultimately, the key is adapting my makeup techniques to each client’s unique preferences, comfort level, and desired aesthetic. By asking the right questions and paying close attention to their needs, I can create a tailored makeup look that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
